About the Position:

The Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Programs (DIEP) supports the CSUF mission of preparing our diverse student body for academic and professional success. We develop and support practices, programming, and policies across the broad spectrum of inclusivity, equity and civility for the CSUF campus community. Through the provision of consultation and training, we strive to promote a campus community wherein students, staff and faculty are engaged in the values of inclusive excellence. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation (DHR) Administrator (Administrator II). Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the DHR Administrator is responsible for the University's compliance and investigations associated with the CSU/University DHR compliance efforts. Oversees complaint and investigation process of DHR in accordance with CSU Executive Orders. Coordinates and monitors DHR efforts of other University offices that receive DHR complaints, including, but not limited to: Title IX, Disability Support Services, Diversity Initiative Resource Center, Judicial Affairs, Athletics, and University Police, etc. Provides counsel and responds to inquiries from other administrators, faculty, staff, students, and third parties regarding rights and responsibilities under DHR. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a relevant discipline. A minimum of one to two years of demonstrated experience in DHR complaint, incident, and/or grievance investigation and resolution. Experience and training regarding conducting sensitive and confidential investigations alleging violations of DHR. Knowledge of and ability to interpret federal and state laws regarding Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation, and Title IX. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to both be impartial and project impartiality and establish rapport with a diverse range of community members. Demonstrated ability to deal appropriately with confidential information and exercise good judgment on sensitive matters. Demonstrated commitment to diversity. Strong organization and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to prepare complex reports and create effective presentations. Ability to handle a significant caseload and manage multiple deadlines. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited university. A minimum of three years of experience in DHR, Title IX complaint and/or grievance investigation and resolution. Experience in a higher education setting preferred, public higher education highly preferred.
