The Assistant Director - Student Eligibility and Employment is responsible for the daily administration of the NCAA Athletic Scholarship programs including the awarding/processing of recipients. The position is responsible for overseeing the packaging process which awards state and federal aid, overseeing the campus based programs (Federal Work Study and SEOG), and monitoring Satisfactory Academic Progress. The Assistant Director will process awards for students in Borrower Based Academic Year (BBAY) programs and concurrent enrollment students. The position will provide oversight of the study abroad awarding. The position will also provide oversight and supervision for three financial aid coordinators.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the day-to-day oversight of NCAA Bylaw 15 (Financial Aid); apply relevant state, federal, and NCAA rules and regulations to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the awarding and adjusting of federal, state, athletic and other financial aid to student athletesincluding the review of individual student-athletes cost of attendance, equivalencies and team limits; direct and coordinate financial aid compliance activities with the Associate Athletics Director for Business Affairs and the Director of Athletic Compliance; monitor all outside financial aid awarded to student-athletes from outside agencies; input all financial aid components into the Compliance Assistant Database as requested by the Director of Athletic Compliance; review and certify all team squad lists for accuracy; serve as the main point of contact for all student athletes and for any NCAA compliance issues including NCAA Financial Aid appeals and appeal questions; serve as the main point of contact for Satisfactory Academic Progress and Unusual Enrollment; verify the SAP and Unusual Enrollment statuses for all students; coordinate Unusual Enrollment Appeals, SAP Appeals, committee review of appeals and the request for final review appeal process; review SAP reports daily and adjust student accounts accordingly; oversee all appeal processes that go through the Financial Aid Office - SAP, Unusual Enrollment & NCAA/Athletic aid appeals; responsible for the packaging/awarding of state and federal funds to eligible students; awarding and reviewing loans as part of the packaging process; oversee Campus Based federal aid, to include Federal Work Study, FSEOG, Academic Service, and Job Location and Development; administer the Undergraduate Research Training Opportunity Program (URaCE) Scholars program in conjunction with the office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Endeavor to include recruiting students, managing funding, and providing ongoing training for students and supervisors; assist in the development of policies, operations, and strategic planning for the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships; conduct presentations and workshops within and outside the University; and represent the University at outreach events.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; three years of experience in a Student Financial Aid Office; 1 year experience with Banner, MyMocsDegree, CANVAS, JobX/TimesheetX, and Argos; and 1 year experience coordinating and assessing student activities or programs.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree; preference given to individuals with Satisfactory Academic Progress experience, campus based aid experience, and knowledge of loans; 1 year experience working in recruitment or placement; and experience developing and facilitating training for students, faculty, and staff.
