  • Position Summary:
    UAA Information Technology Services is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the Manager of Enterprise & Web Applications position. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in application development and administering enterprise applications with experience managing small teams.     Duties:
    Fiscal Working with the IS Director, manage budgets, expenditures, and revenues in each area of accountability. Fiscal management responsibilities to include implementation, inventory, forecasting, maintenance and audit of budgets to ensure compliance with BOR policies and UA regulations.

    Project Management Provide project management and oversight of active projects in each area of responsibility. Coordinate with teams to ensure project plans are developed, timelines are agreed to and met, and projects are completed satisfactorily. Actively participate in technical aspects of projects when necessary.

    Application Management Serve as final escalation point for technical decision making and participate in technical design, development, or implementation as necessary. Consult with business and academic leaders to develop and link technical solutions to institutional requirements, goals, and objectives with an emphasis on improving teaching and learning outcomes. Maintain an inventory of applications in-use across the institution. Assess new application requests and provide approvals or denials. Work with the IS Director, CIO, and Procurement office to develop and maintain policy around software purchasing and application standards. Actively identify gaps between current and desired end-states and deliver solutions that create efficiencies and add value. Ensure all users have the training and knowledge to perform their required tasks to ensure adoption and end-user success.

    Leadership Supervise the Enterprise Applications and Web Applications teams, including coaching, mentoring, and developing staff members. Responsible for overseeing personnel actions of all directly reporting employees, including hiring, performance management, and terminations. Develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities of each employee. Create individual training plans and coordinate training events. As the Manager of Enterprise Applications, create and monitor the following for the team:
  • Strategic vision and goals
  • Department and Individual Goals and Objectives
  • Growth plan and opportunities
  • Performance targets for Service Level Agreements (SLA's)
  • Track tickets, assignments, and resolution plans
  • Workflow and process efficiencies
  • Team support, morale and productivity
  • Annual Performance Reviews Work with the Infrastructure Services (IS) Director on strategic opportunities and communicate operational issues and risks. Ensure operations are integrated with greater IT operations within ITS as well as throughout the UA system. Work with the IS Director, Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering (ICE) Manager, and other stakeholders and University Advancement to rollout major services associated with new infrastructure. Responsible for establishing/maintaining good relationships with vendors. Create healthy partnerships, assist in negotiating agreements, and ensure value is delivered to the university.

    Typical Experience:
    Three years of increasingly responsible management experience in Information Technology to include Human Resources and personnel. Experience with strategic planning for IT service delivery. Experience in the development of operational and technical strategies for IT service delivery rollout/maintenance.

    Required Education or Training:
    Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience. Three years of increasingly responsible management experience in Information Technology, Information Management Systems, Computer Science, Project Management or related discipline.

    Broad operational knowledge of information technology in the areas of application administration and web and application development.

    Demonstrated experience building coalitions and professional relationships with internal and external constituencies to achieve results.

    Salary Information:

    This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 83, based on education and experience.
