SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE DEAN (Administrative Analyst/Specialist-Exempt I)

Primary Duties:
Working independently under general direction of the Library Dean, the Special Assistant to the Dean performs specialized administrative and analytical duties, including development, alteration, implementation, evaluation and coordination of Library Services (MLIB) personnel management and budgetary functions. Incumbent participates in Library Services planning, communications, marketing, and financial analysis and provides support to ensure the delivery of high quality Library services, that maximize student, faculty and staff satisfaction and success. Total staff consists of library faculty, staff, technical staff and student employee classifications. (30+/- FTE Staff; 60+/- Student Employees).

Required Education: The knowledge, skills and abilities listed above would normally be obtained through a bachelors degree and/or equivalent training and two years of full-time administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs.

Therefore, this is a designated position under the California State Universitys Conflict of Interest Code and the incumbent will be required to file a Form 700: Statement of Economic Interest and is subject to the regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission. (Group/Category: Procurement Card Holder, 2) Note this designation is applicable only if Procurement Card is issued.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Incumbent/applicant will need to be able to perform the essential job functions (duties) of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. This position alternates between remaining in a stationary position operating a personal computer for long periods of time and frequently moving about inside the office. Must be able to travel across campus to other offices and buildings for meetings and events and may include even and uneven walking surfaces.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a typical, fast-paced office environment with standard office equipment. Occasionally, assignments will require early morning, evening or weekend hours in order to perform responsibilities at scheduled events, and may require travel.
