Madison College offers a generous benefit program including health and dental benefits. The employee selected will serve a twelve (12) month introductory period. This position does not offer a relocation package.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year position. Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Interviews will be done via WebEx.

ORGANIZATIONAL FUNCTION AND RELATIONSHIPS

This position is responsible for the awarding of all Madison College's Title IV funds. This position has the sole responsibility to utilize all funding allocated to Madison College. The position also provides direction of tasks within the until to student help or work study employees.

This position reports to the Associate Manager - Financial Aid.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The following duties are typically expected of this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
  • Analyzes and calculates all Title IV Federal and State financial aid making sure all funds are used and ensuring Federal Regulations and Guidelines are adhered to.
  • Modifies student's award based on information received.
  • Requires very detailed analysis to ensure adjustment is accurately calculated.
  • Authorizes and disburses student's financial aid.
  • Requires knowledge of the eligibility of each fund.
  • Performs testing to new financial aid regulatory releases.
  • Recommends any adjustments to processes.
  • Responds to questions and requests pertaining to financial aid from other units across the college and to external agencies.
  • Responds to escalated, complex financial aid inquiries, via the telephone, email and in writing from students regarding their financial aid status.
  • Coordinates the delivery, issue resolution and return of funds between Madison College and State of Wisconsin Higher Education Aids Board.
  • Receives and releases confidential and sensitive records in compliance with regulatory standards.


KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
  • Skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated skill in communications and human relations with populations of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and persons with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of financial aid regulations, procedures, methods and terminology.
  • Ability to research federal and state regulations as needed.
  • Skill in dealing courteously and tactfully with students and the public.
  • Ability to transfer files with outside agencies in an electronic format.
  • Ability to coordinate own work with that of others and maintain appropriate quality standards for assigned work.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associates degree or two year technical certificate from an accredited institution in Business, Education Administration, Office Administration or related field; OR two (2) years (4,000 hours) of related work experience directly related to the skills required for successfully performing this position.


*Experience used as an equivalent of an educational requirement is in addition to any experience required by the position.
  • Two (2) year (4,000 hours) of work experience, which must include working in the Financial Aid Office of a vocational-technical school, college or university.
