POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides exceptional customer service to prospective, continuing and returning students as the primary contact for information and assistance regarding federal, state, institutional, and foundation financial aid and scholarship programs and eligibility. This position will work closely other financial aid staff to proactively assist with resolving student issues. This position is responsible for the review and verification of student files for accuracy to package and award various forms of financial assistance. This position will also provide services to institution/foundation applicants including financial aid advising, financial literacy, and scholarship completion assistance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all general federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures related to financial aid, institution scholarships, foundation scholarships, and external scholarships.
- Coordinate, organize and implement grant and scholarship process.
- Responsible for all timely notification to students, including website and portal updates.
- Monitor grant and scholarship allocations to create efficient spend-down and reconciliation processes.
- Serve as liaison between students, CCA staff and CCA Foundation staff.
- Process all Extraordinary Personal Circumstances, City of Aurora Discount, and Instructional grants, and all external scholarship checks.
- Advise all current and prospective students and their families on general and specific financial aid information by counseling via email, in person, and on the telephone, questioning and assessing the needs of students and discussing options for funding, clarifying policies and procedures, and accessing computer information on the student.
- Resolve financial aid student issues by analyzing financial data, consulting with other staff in the Financial Aid Office, and other agencies, and counseling the student.
- Provide guidance and support to student employees as part of a shared office responsibility to answer questions and reinforce financial aid knowledge.
- Create, implement, provide, and maintain financial literacy and scholarship events/workshops in collaboration with COSI Advisor.
- Responsible for the quality control of institutional scholarship award processes.
- Serve as an informed resource to the CCA staff regarding institution and foundation scholarship policies and procedures.
- Communicate clearly with other departments within the Enrollment Success & Completion division.
- Participate in outreach activities to promote enrollment efforts; participate and contribute in departmental meetings and committees, including conducting financial aid presentations both on and off campus.
- Develop professionally by reading and attending professional conferences, workshops and webinars.
- Serve on appropriate committees as required and/or assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director/Assistant Director of the Financial Aid Office.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution OR relevant work experience on a year for year basis.2.Minimum of three (3) years professional financial aid experience, scholarship management experience, or customer service experience.3.Effective oral and written communication skills.4.Proven ability to handle multiple tasks at once.5.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.6.Ability to communicate and work closely with a diversified group of people, including students, parents, staff, faculty and off-campus venues.7. A commitment to providing excellent customer service and working with students.8.Knowledge of federal financial aid policies and programs.9.Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Salary Range: Anticipated salary range is $52,508.84- $60,385.17 annually. This salary is determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
