Job Summary/Basic Function: The Department of Organization & Leadership at Teachers College, Columbia University is seeking a part time Department Associate. This position reports directly to the Director of Academic Administration (DAA).Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Act as the first level of review on all documents submitted to the department for approval.
Manage the review, track and report on salaried and other budgeted items and communicate concerns to programs.
Oversight of work-study funds, track usage and provide reports; liaise with Financial Aid.
Manage website updates and overall appearance.
Provide assistance to Chair, including special projects or research assignments.
Provide assistance to DAA including special projects, such as financial reports or audits, research new technologies, and assist in streamlining processes.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Highly proficient in maintaining and developing office workflow systems and software, including but not limited to web editing tools, Microsoft Excel and other related software.
Website experience.
Ability to produce work accurately and efficiently while managing multiple priorities.
Ability to abide by the Confidentiality Agreement.
Competencies:
Strong work ethic, self-starter.
Ability to work with broad range of people.
Outstanding communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills; diplomacy; sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience monitoring budgets, tracking expenditures, and database entries.
