Position Summary:
The Director of Student Financial Assistance performs a variety of duties related to the planning, organization, and direction of financial aid and other programs for the university. The employee will also supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff.

Minimum Education:
BS/BA in business administration, management, or accounting or a four-year degree in a related field. Masters degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:
5 years of experience in higher education with emphasis in areas of: financial aid, admissions, academic advising, etc. Proven leadership in developing and implementing institutional policies. Knowledge and experience with financial software systems. Ability to analyze and direct budget preparation.

Job Functions:
Provide leadership and direction for the Financial Aid Office. Establishes and manages the financial aid budget; and authorizes disbursement of funds. Manages total awards and expenditures, including the development and implementation of appropriate merit
Reviews and interprets Federal, State and NCAA regulations to ensure that all financial management guidelines are met for student eligibility and enrollment. Disseminates Federal, State and NCAA regulation information to departmental staff.
Counsels, advises, and assist students and families on financial aid options by providing information regarding student aid availability and other procedural financial aid issues.
Collaborates and consults with members of the enrollment management team and other campus units in order to meet the enrollment and academic goals of the campus.
Supports the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned.
