Job Summary

The Office of Information Technology encourages applications for a Secure Cloud User Support and M365 Administrator! This position serves as user support for the Secure Research Computing (RC) Services while providing some fundamental M365 Administration support. The responsibilities of this position include onboarding new users, responding to user support tickets, developing and maintaining user-facing and security documentation, providing user training and coordinating consultations.This position carries a general expectation to respond to critical issues and incidents that arise outside of normal business hours within a reasonable time frame, as established by the position's supervisor. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

User Support, Coordination and Training:
  • Onboard new users to secure environment including supervising workflow for user access approval process, following up on required training completion and user agreement sign-off and working with workflow service owner to resolve issues.
  • Provide prompt, accurate and courteous assistance with client incidents and questions.
  • Respond to user support tickets and advance as needed to Cloud engineers or Service Owner.
  • Create and maintain user-facing documentation, training and security control documentation supporting the System Security Plan.
  • Write and coordinate updates to service website.
  • Coordinate updates to training with the campus training service.
  • Provide and coordinate support to users through individual or group consultations.
  • Provide environment-specific training and connect users with vendor training and/or other researchers.
  • Broker deeper consultations with available cloud provider contacts.
  • Lead and manage training workshops and seminars as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships as needed to support users.
  • Supervise offboarding feeds and decommission access per the required standard operating procedure.
M365 Tenant Administration (Basic) Responsible for providing basic M365 Administration support to users experiencing issues with or asking detailed questions about M365. Responsibilities include:
  • Provision project teams, email groups and access groups.
  • Update email policies under the supervision of a Cloud Engineer.
  • Coordinate email delivery exception request forms to completion and ticket closeout.
  • Contribute service-specific user knowledge articles for enhancing use of M365.
  • Monitor email activities of users using available M365 tools.
  • Coordinate and transfer ownership of files and folders to appropriate owners when a user leaves the environment.
Project Participation:Responsible for collaborating with Cloud Engineers, Service Owner and Security staff on projects and operational changes to enhance the usability and advance the security of the environment. This includes:
  • Capture and understand business process and user requirements to meet compliance and usability objectives.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Engineers on developing solution options by representing user perspectives of computing needs.
  • Create process and design documentation supporting proposed changes in the tenant.
  • Implement and update necessary User Management, User Policy and M365 documentation to control changes in the environment.
Professional development:
  • Learning new concepts relevant to supporting the users, maintaining compliance, or receiving relevant certifications.

  • This position is in a hybrid work situation, coming on campus as needed based on business requirements.
  • This is a limited-term role, anticipated to last for one year.


What We Can Offer

  • Salary: $66,300 - $74,710.

What We Require

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in computer science, computer information systems, or related field.
  • A combination of education and/or related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year for year basis. 1+ years of experience:
    • in supporting a service or application.
    • in cybersecurity-related service.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within groups, ability to manage multiple activities and/or tasks simultaneously.
