Job Summary

Prepares financial reports, develops and maintains financial models, conducts ad-hoc analysis, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency and profitability. Leverages financial expertise and analytical skills, plays a key role in evaluating business performance, identifying trends, and providing recommendations to optimize financial outcomes and achieve long-term objectives.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Partners with leadership team to develop annual operating budgets and resulting reserves
2. Uploads budget information into financial software
3. Produces monthly reporting for management (Operating Budgets, Capital Spending, Reserve Balances, Strategic Plan Progress)
4. Completes analysis(actual vs. budget/forecast/prior year)to ensure accuracy and provides explanation for variances to management
5. Submits budget amendments for both operating and payroll expense as needed
6. Develops forecasts quarterly and as needed
7. Prepares journal entries for operating budget items as necessary
8. Prepares PowerPoint presentations to convey budgets and results to senior management and trustees
9. Prepares quarterly dashboards of significant metrics for Senior Leadership and Trustees
10. Manages all scholarship management reporting including follow-up to ensure accuracy of reporting
11. Drives action plans throughout the year to ensure scholarships are awarded, including developing forecasting tools for business partners
12. Communicates progress reports to senior leadership and implements their direction to ensure the team achieves the strategic goals for scholarship spending
13. Extracts and calculates financial information for ~ 500 annual endowment reports and manages distribution process, prepares, and communicates college specific endowment reporting for accreditation requirements
14. Fields questions from business partners about endowment balances and spending
15. Serves as primary support to department leadership by assisting with preparing various requests for ad hoc information

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Accountancy, Finance, Business or related field.

Required Experience
Four (4) years of related work experience in accounting, budgeting and analysis, and/or financial reporting with advanced level experience in querying data and Excel

Proposed Salary

The budgeted salary range is $71,220 to $85,000. Offers are based on relevant experience.

ABILITIES
Able to analyze data objectively to make data driven decisions
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one-time meeting assigned deadlines

KNOWLEDGE
Advanced proficiency in querying data from financial software to extract and analyze critical financial information.
Advanced level experience with Excel (managing data, pivot tables, complex formulas, building financial models)
Basic understanding of accounting principles

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
