Position Description
Performs routine pre-award and/or post-award sponsored programs activities associated with management and oversight of the life cycle of awards.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Prepare departmental cash deposits in accordance with institutional and departmental policy and procedure; reconcile and maintain the cash clearing fund, submit weekly JV to apply cash receipts to appropriate grant receivables (including financial aid), and work with accounting team as needed
  • Process direct pay and sub-award payments in accordance with departmental policy and procedure; submit weekly cash match JV
  • Assist with collection efforts of sponsored project accounts receivable aging in accordance with institutional policy and procedure
  • Assist the accounting team with documentation needs for sponsored project billings and assist with documentation needs for audits (internal or external)
  • Other duties as assigned (assist with sponsored project record retention, testing new and existing systems, other team projects, and maintain position desk manual)
  • Customer service experience
  • Work consistently in a team environment
  • Demonstrate competency in verbal and written communication, time management, accounting or analytical procedures, problem-solving, and decision-making. Ability to learn complex information systems and proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Experience in research administration (including Federal regulations and institutional policy), fund accounting, Banner, and/or Cognos. General knowledge of higher education administration


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 1 year experience OR combination of education and experience to equal 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications
Business-related degree, CPA or candidate, CRA/CFRA/CPRA or candidate.
